Over U.S. Agency for International Development
In 2021, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) launched its Economic Development Accelerator (EDA) program in Guyana. The activity was terminated in February 2025. Through this initiative, small and growing businesses focused on agricultural manufacturing (finished goods) and related industries gained access to both recoverable and non-reimbursable grants to help them scale their operations locally and internationally.
As a complement, these businesses received training, coaching and technical support to foster their growthT and long-term sustainability. The program’s expansion to Suriname is currently on hold pending decisions by the current United States administration.
