Over Caribbean Export Development Agency
The Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) is a regional organization dedicated to enhancing the competitiveness and export capacity of Caribbean businesses. It supports firms through a wide array of services including market intelligence, capacity building, technical assistance and strategic partnerships that foster trade and investment across the region. By providing expert guidance and facilitating access to global markets, Caribbean Export helps businesses embrace digital transformation, sustainable practices and innovative approaches to overcome barriers in today's competitive landscape.
Caribbean Export actively supports MSMEs in Suriname through targeted private sector development initiatives. For instance, its Regional Private Sector Development Programme III (RPSDP III), −an EU-funded initiative with a EUR 12 million budget running from 2023 to 2027− strengthens MSME resilience and competitiveness by fostering digital transformation, promoting green economy transitions and broadening access to diverse financing options including angel investing, while reinforcing trade ties under the CARIFORUM-EU Economic Partnership Agreement.
Building on its legacy of diverse support mechanisms, Caribbean Export is set to launch its new EU-supported Green Innovation Grants Program by June 2025. This initiative will offer larger grants of up to USD 100,000 to projects that drive the green economy transition, promote innovative green strategies and foster technological advancements, thereby further spurring sustainable economic growth and environmental resilience across the Caribbean region.
